A different sort of review this time, rather than a book or some big gribbly that we all love. I thought it would be fun to look at just a single 28mm model.
In this case one of the Avatar of Wars character models, the Marauder Champion. The blister pack is a decent size with some nice artwork on the sleeve.
You actually get a few options within the pack, be 2 axes, sword and axe or shield and weapon. Plus 2 very different heads means you wont be short of things to do with him..
I am loving the head options, the standard barbarian head is nice but the bag head is awesome
Lots of choppy chop death..
Some nice little details on the body, the thing to remember with the AoW stuff is of course that it is true scale miniatures so although it will fit in with most things on closer inspection you will be able to tell the difference.
A very nice model, I love you actually get options to build your model. Interestingly they can have many different uses from Warhammer to D&D. OK they may not fit into hero scale as much but on the tabletop I don’t think you will notice so much.
So the AoW models are certainly worth a look for your fantasy need.

Well here they are my first batch of Warriors.
You have noticed I have gone for a nurgle scheme because it is rude not too it is also my first attempt at playing with the Nurgle rot paint. It is certainly interesting.
Here are my screamers for my Daemon army.
An experiment to continue to use the fluorescent paint and I have to say these came out much better than my flamers they really pop, I think anyway.
Here is monster number 2 for my Ogres after the Stonehorn.
I am pretty happy with the earthy sort of white I managed to get for the fur as well as not using the shoulder pads for the front.
I always imagined they wouldnt charge in with this like you would a Stonehorn so why would you want to add extra protection?
My total ogre count now stands at over 30! Which is a pretty handy total for the lists I generally do.
Sooooooo I may have done some swapping shenanigans and got myself some servants of Chaos for my Ogres who I have fallen out with (The problems of Hobby ADD).
With what I have received from my cohort (Hi Keith) in swapping models is a decent backbone to progress in a couple of ways. But for now I am going with a list of what I have and here it comes.
Daemon Prince with Chaos Armour, Flight, Level 3 wizard, Mark of Tzeentch and Flaming Breath
Sorcerer level 2 and Dispel Scroll
5x Warhounds with Vanguard
5x Warhounds with Vanguard
20x Warriors with Full command, Shields and Mark of Tzeentch
18x Warriors with Full command, additional HW and Mark of Khorne
5x Chaos Knights with Full Command and enscrolled weapons
Lands nicely on 1999 points so not too bad as a base. Bare in mind this is more or less everything I have to my name, so tweaks to numbers may need to wait. But any advice and direction going forward is most welcome.
Now to wait for 9th edition and full ally rules and supplements so I can have fun with my daemons at the same time…
