It is the Year 2670
A Golden Age of humanity has passed into history. A time when mankind
advanced implacably and unopposed through the stars has gone beyond living memory.
Planet Earth and the original Cradle Worlds are lost to the great foe, the Scourge.
The shattering invasion of this terrible enemy has torn the domains of man asunder.
The remnants of human civilisation now exist in a collection of frontier planets.
Thinly spread and underdeveloped, they are pale shadows of mankind’s former glories.
However, this is not an age without hope.
Humanity has found new strength, unity and purpose in these times of dire fortune.
The colonies are undertaking a period of vigorous, dynamic expansion,
unrivalled in the history of our race, united by a common purpose – Reconquest.
The armies of the United Colonies of Mankind march towards humanities’ former heartland,
battling the dreaded Scourge one world at a time. Many enemies and allies await on this journey;
an odyssey through the stars towards a distant and glittering goal – Earth.
So one of the hottest new wargames has opened its internet doors for the preorders of many many shiny things. I most say it has been worth the wait the site is nice the miniatures amazing and the slow trickle of rules begins with Dave doing Facebook chats today.
I have to get the slight negative out of the way. I, like many others were surprised by the prices on the website but after the initial panic and chat to others. They are not too bad, I would suggest anyone looking at the site for the first time to completely ignore the army deals. Look at the individual prices of the tanks/flyers etc. They are very nicely priced for what is resin on-par with the likes of Spartan and in some instances Forge World and cheaper than Finecast..
What I think has surprised people is the savings on the army deals are not the significant ones we as a hobby have become accustomed to with the likes of the starters sets for Warmachine, Dystopian wars etc. However once you have got over this you are still making a saving if only a small amount. Trust me it will be worth it, I have ordered the rulebook as those on Twitter will know I cant decide on which faction to do
Speaking of factions (I have finished ranting by the way) let’s have a look.
The generic jack-of-all-trades faction will be popular with Halo/Starship Trooper fans
The alien overlords of what remains of earth
Cyborgs everyone loves cyborgs
The super aliens with crazy technology
Well that was just a taster if you want more click on any of the faction logos to go to their section of the site.
Remember that Dave is doing a Q&A on Facebook today as well. So make sure to ask those questions you need answering.
